What is grass paper?
As the name says, grass paper is paper made of grass. Grass paper has a natural look and visible grass fibre. The innovative grass paper is FSC-certified and consists of 30% sun-dried grass fibre (hay) and 70% recycled paper. Grass paper reduces the consumption of wood and is therefore particularly durable.
The raw materials for the grass paper are also taken from the vicinity of the paper mill, which means that transport routes are short. This reduces CO2 emissions by up to 50%. Water consumption is also reduced by up to 50%. The production of grass paper takes place without the use of chemicals.
How is grass paper made?
The base is made of grass paper from harvested grass that is first dried and then processed into hay. It is then milled and pressed into pellets. In the factory, the pellets are then dissolved in water. After this the material is further processed into material with which we can make displays and P.O.S. material.
The material gives the display a unique touch: a relatively coarse structure where the individual grass fibres are still visible.
